Bronze Urn – Golden Teardrop

New to Yarwood Memorials, our range of sculptural bronze urns are the perfect tribute to a loved one. Cast in bronze, they look beautiful inside the home, as well as outside in the garden. With a threaded watertight closure on the base, you can rest assured that moisture will not get inside the urn. When the urns are left in nature, the bronze will oxidise and develop verdigris over time – however, this can be delayed or prevented by occasionally polishing and applying a generous layer of natural beeswax, if desired.

In a beautiful blue hue with golden highlights, the Golden Teardrop Urn is a simple and elegant tribute, perfect for inside the home or outside in the garden. Dimensions – 30cm high, 16cm wide, 19cm deep, 3litre capacity.

  1. Start by taking some digital scales and the container of ashes that you would have received from the crematorium.
  2. Place this box onto the digital scales and weigh the ashes.
  3. If the ashes are contained in a poly-tub, remove 230g from the additional weight. If they are in a cremation box, remove 200g from the weight.
  4. Our rule of thumb is that every kilogram of cremated remains equates to approximately 1 litre of ashes.
  5. This means if you have 3 kilograms of cremated remains you will need to purchase an urn of between 3-4 litres in capacity.
  6. We have products to suit all needs, available from 0.025 litre through to 8 litre capacities.
  7. If you are unsure about sizing an urn please call us on 01245 377057 and we will be able to assist you.

Product Instructions:

  1. Unscrew the threaded closure in the base, using the tool provided.
  2. Inter the ashes slowly into the urn, using a funnel if required.
  3. Screw the closure back onto the urn, being careful not to cross thread it.

When bronze is left in nature it will oxidise and develop verdigris (the blue-green patina) over time.

  • To prevent verdigris and keep the bronze looking its best, apply a generous layer of high-quality wax (suitable for bronze) and gently buff
  • Reapply the wax every 6-12 months depending on weather conditions
  • Regularly dust or polish with a soft brush or microfibre cloth
  • Do not use any harsh chemicals, including pesticides, pressure washers and abrasive pads on or around the urn
  • Please keep pets and animals from marking or soiling this urn to prevent damage
  • If possible, position it away from overhanging trees or places where bird droppings and organic debris accumulate
