Due to significant increases in global manufacturing, brass, energy and freight costs, we have introduced revised trade and recommended retail pricing from Monday 8th June.

We have worked hard to absorb rising costs since December 2020, however this is no longer sustainable.

The Bios Urn is a funeral urn built from 100% biodegradable materials, cellulose and natural fibres. The Bios Urn can be buried next to an existing tree to assist its growth or planted in the ground with a sapling to nurture the growth of a new tree. SKU SHB01 Category
  1. Start by taking some digital scales and the container of ashes that you would have received from the crematorium.
  2. Place this box onto the digital scales and weigh the ashes.
  3. If the ashes are contained in a poly-tub, remove 230g from the additional weight. If they are in a cremation box, remove 200g from the weight.
  4. Our rule of thumb is that every kilogram of cremated remains equates to approximately 1 litre of ashes.
  5. This means if you have 3 kilograms of cremated remains you will need to purchase an urn of between 3-4 litres in capacity.
  6. We have products to suit all needs, available from 0.025 litre through to 8 litre capacities.
  7. If you are unsure about sizing an urn please call us on 01245 377057 and we will be able to assist you.

How to use the Bios Urn:

  1. Fill the lower capsule with the ashes of a loved-one.
  2. Mix the components with the chosen seed in the upper capsule.
  3. Close the urn and plant it 3 to 5 cm (1 to 2 inches) from the surface of the soil.
  4. The Bios Urn and ashes become part of nature as the tree grows.
